Mindut is a small town located at the southern Chin State and situates about 1,480 meters above the sea level. The weather there is normally from cool to cold and misty. If the weather is clear, one can see the peak of the Mt. Victoria (Nat Ma Taung) from there. It is one of the two gateways for the trekkers to trek to the peak of Mt. Victoria.
Due to the easy and reliable accessibility from Bagan by motor road and with its sizeable population, Mindut is the biggest town in southern Chin State. The people living in the town and its nearby villages still maintain the Chin culture and tradition. Unspoiled dense rain forests and tall pine trees surrounded the small town. One can also see Chin ladies with tattooed faces live at nearby villages when visiting those villages.
